Naomi is a UK trained ballet teacher (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies, Royal Academy of Dance) and Master of Science, Media and Communication graduate (Cardiff University), currently working for King’s College London.
Born in London, Naomi began studying ballet at the age of 6. She passed a variety of dance examinations in ISTD and Cecchetti syllabi and finally took her advanced vocational examinations under the direction of June Mitchell with the Royal Academy of Dance. Naomi was involved in many youth ballet productions, including the London Children’s Ballet and at the age of 13, successfully auditioned for Central School of Ballet’s pre-vocational programme.
As an avid theatregoer and very interested in classical ballet technique, Naomi regularly attends performance, seminars and competitions that focus on the training and development of dancers; at The Royal Ballet School and English National Ballet School here in London and the Paris Opera Ballet School demonstrations each December.
In her quest to explore and understand differing techniques, Naomi arranged visits to watch the Royal Danish Ballet School's apprentice level class in Copenhagen, an advance level class at the School of American Ballet in New York, La Scala Ballet School summer performances in Milan and also attended the 27th International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria and the 25th International Ballet Festival of Havana, Cuba.
In 2016, Naomi began writing for British Theatre Guide, Londondance.com and Theatre Bubble where she reviews a range of theatre; from classical ballet galas and vocational school performances to musical theatre and contemporary creations.
